How Instant Messages work
An Instant Message is a short introduction of up to 160 characters that can be sent before matching.
One introduction per member
You can send one Instant Message to a particular member. One credit is used only after you confirm the message.
A reply starts a normal chat
If the person replies, a normal chat opens and you can continue messaging each other for free.
Five included each paid month
The allowance refreshes each month. Unused included messages do not roll over, including on three- and six-month plans.
Your included messages are used first
Your five included messages are used before separately purchased credits, so purchased credits stay available.
Clear answers before you pay
Do I need to subscribe to chat with a match?
No. When two people like each other, both can chat together for free.
What am I paying for?
You are paying to see the full profiles of people who liked you, respond directly from the Likes You section, receive five included pre-match Instant Messages each paid month, and receive new nearby member alerts within your saved distance.
Can I buy Instant Messages without subscribing?
Yes. Instant Messages can be purchased separately. A subscription already includes five each paid month, so buying more is optional.
Does paying guarantee a match or reply?
No. Paid features make it easier to introduce yourself, but they cannot guarantee attraction, replies, matches or dates.
